QUIZ QUEST conducted successfully with the T.E.A.M. spirit.
Lourdes Convent High School, Saligao, walked off with the top spot in
the QUIZ QUEST held at St.Britto High School hall, Mapusa -Goa, by its
alumni association called the Britto's Old Boys' Association on Sunday 02
September. Twenty one schools participated. [See list below]
St. Mary's Convent High School, Mapusa, were the first Runner-up in
the keenly fought contest, while St. Joseph High School, Arpora was
placed third. O.L.of Rosary High School, Dona Paula, completed the set
of four finalists.
Interestingly, two of the teams were from Co-ed schools and the other
two were exclusively Girls schools. No "exclusively Boys school" made it
to the finals. Three schools are managed by different religious orders
but under the Archdiocesan Board of Education [ABE] with only St.
Joseph HS being a Diocesan school [DSE].
The semi-finalists included Government High School, Alto-Betim
[opposite DTE], SFX High School, Siolim, Loyola HS, Margao, SFX High
School, Peddem-Mapusa and, for technical reasons, St.Britto HS,
Mapusa, again dominated by the ABE group of schools.
Most people were surprised at the good showing of the Government High
School,Alto-Betim, the only Government run school to participate. If not for
the team's hesitation in the "Who am I?"round, it might have made it to the
final four!

Architect Pravin Sabnis, the Chief Quiz Master, was a wonderful and
delightful person at the helm of the on-stage events. BOB Roque
Carvalho, the Chairman of the Quiz Quest Organising T.E.A.M., handled
the off stage support with Core Group members and volunteers. The Britto's OBA
believes in the T.E.A.M. spirit: Together Everyone Achieves More!
Earlier the President of Britto's OBA, BOB Krishna Sawant, welcomed
all the participants and audience. Fr. Apolinario Cardoz sj, Principal
of St.Britto HS, Mapusa, inaugurated the QUIZ QUEST and later gave
away the prizes and participation certificates. The Quiz T.E.A.M. Chairman, BOB
Roque Carvalho, proposed the vote of thanks.
The Quiz Quest started on time and ended as per schedule with lunch
for all, participants and audience, hosted by the Britto's OBA.
The Britto's OBA has associated itself with the Botanical Society of Goa and
Goa Sudharop Inc in conducting a workshop for school teachers from all over Goa
on RAIN WATER HARVESTING at Institute Menezes Braganza on 11 September, 2007.
Invitations were sent to schools participating in the Quiz Quest with their
team leaders. Registration closes on 08 September, 2007. Interested school may
