The neat, well-maintained houses with the equally well-maintained gardens line either side of the numerous lanes that crisscross each other. An aura of discipline hangs around wherever you go. You are, after all, on sacred ground with enough war heroes to fill several volumes. (Reuven Proenca in GT) IN RESPONSE TO "Are Goa ready for tourists?": "I have been 3 times in Goa! I love Goa but I know one thing which makes me crazy: When I go for a walk I can't walk because everywhere everybody tells you to come in their shops and look at their things. So now when I walk in the village I just don't look and don't answer them. It seems to be very unpolite. If I want to buy something I walk into a shop and do my shopping but PLEASE let me walk around without this "come and look my things".Almost everyone who I talked with (in Sweden) says the same, that the people who try to sell something are so very bad for the tourists. Anyway, I think I'll go to Goa again this season.
