GOAN JOURNO IN SWEDEN: Demise of Alfred Tavares (Chacha), Goan journalist based in Stockholm: Alfred Tavares aged 70, husband of Eva, father of Maura, Sanna, Sorella and Janne expired in Stockholm on 31.8.2014. Touched everybody he met. Helped in the adoption of several Indian children who are well placed in homes in Sweden. Always shared whatever he had with family and friends. She was 83 and the mother of popular info-tech personality Prashant Kuncolienkar (Computronics Infotech), a long-time Goanetter. BOB Zeno Afonso, former boarder at St. Britto HS and member of the Britto's Old Boys' Association passed away. Heart attack is stated to be the cause of death. The funeral was held on 25 August, 2014, at Navelim-Salcete. This is what BOB Sigmund de Souza wrote about him on Facebook, 'I am really saddened by the news of the sudden and untimely passing away of my dear friend Zeno Xavier Afonso. We shared many happy memories from school and college. He always wore a smile and found something to laugh about irrespective of what he was going through personally.
