Why does a goan suffer from nostalgia reminiscing its history that has given him his ethnic identity? lt is for these reasons that Celina Almeida has chosen to write a book on "Feasts and Fests of Goa - The Flavour of a Unique Culture." *About the author* Celina Almeida, a citizen of Panjim, holds a Masters Degree in Education from Bombay University and a Masters Degree in Portuguese from the University of Goa. Has taught in People's HS and People's HSSC. After retirement as the headmistress of the HS school, she joined Don Bosco HSSC, Panjim, as a lecturer of Portuguese language. She was a regular contributor to the Goa Today Magazine and at present to the Revista of Casa de Goa, Lisbon. She co-authored text books in Portuguese Language for the Goa Board of Secondary and HSSC Education from levels viii to xii and was instrumental in bringing about changes in the curriculum and examination patterns of the above levels.
