Folks,

We are faced with a real quandry in this coming election. The church has
issued guidelines which are just about perfect--do not vote for a communal
party, do not vote for defectors, do not vote for the corrupt, etc etc. The
problem is that no party meets these stringent standards. The BJP must
have lost a lot of ground after what happened in Gujerat, but must be
jumping with joy now, after seeing the Congress list. How can a
party standing for elections in a literate state, put up a list of 14
defectors and 3 scamsters! Does Sonia Gandhi think that Goa is like Bihar
( who knows, maybe it is). To add to the confusion are other minor
parties and Independents, who will jump on the most convenient bandwagon
when the Govt. is being formed, because the chances of a hung assembly are
increasing by the day.

Our state can only bleed in the coming months and years. Sometimes
democracy is a millstone around our necks. Regards--Gilbert.
