On Saturday we were at the Baga Beach. Considering that it was one of the
last few summer weekends it was surprising that the beach was not crowded.
May be everyone was busy with the election campaign and the all day and all
night drink and dine parties that have become essential to sustain any
election campaign. But there were a lot of stray cattle and dogs scavenging
along the beach. Mr Chief Minister, please don't tell us that privatisation
is the only way to keep the beaches clean.

The May 30th Assembly elections are set for an exciting finish. People will
have to make the right choice. The communal and casteist BJP should not even
be considered by the voters. We can prevent a Gujarat carnage happening in
Goa by outright discarding and rejecting this communal party which is a
threat to the secular identity of our state.

The defective defectors and the corrupt candidates must be shown their place
but the priority should be outright rejection of the communal and casteist
BJP. Their ideology and agenda has been rejected all over the country and
has no place in a State like Goa.

The BJP will try to confuse the voters. The party is funding a lot of
independent candidates and some political parties to try and split the
votes.

A lot of leaders have already deserted this sinking ship. They have realised
the evil designs of this party which has tried to project itself as a party
with a difference

When the votes are counted and Mr Parrikar is shown his place, he may choose
to stroll down Miramar beach and reflect on his misrule. He should be
grateful to the people of Panjim who stood up to save their beach which he
was so desperately trying to privatise.

The May 30th election is crucial to the future of our State. The work of
restoring the secular identity of Goa would have to start in earnest and
the damage done by the 17 months BJP rule would have to be rectified.
