Probably this is a relic of the inquisition when Jews were burned at the stake.
This is a blot on the Catholic Church, the Papacy and the two countries Portugal and
Spain whe3re this was widely practiced. The Portuguese brought this custom to Goa and
there was a centre where the extermination of the Jews was plotted from.
Maybe Pundit Josi Colago will give you his opinion as he knows everything about
nothing.
