Dear Sirs,
The PCAF has discussed the actions of your organisation in
unilaterally cutting off Star TV for around 10 days, and holding the
customers to ransom, after taking yearly
payments in many cases.We have discussed various statements made by Mr
Rudresh Chodankar and Michael Carrasco reportedly President and Vice
President respectively.
Also the statements of Star TV representatives, press reports of your
Organisations open
admittance of concealing exact number of connections, misleading information
regarding CMs support(denied by him),non payment of taxes, and threatening
those organisations which did not join your illegal actions. Your customers
were not given any notice or consulted.
In fact we had passed a Resolution to file a class action suit in the
Consumer Court in conjunction with the NGOs in
Panaji,Saligao,Soccoro,Pomburpa and laater perhaps The All Goa USERS
Association.It is only Ganesh Holidays and your restarting Star TV that we
have not acted. The Consumers have a right to be informed of the following:
1.Who is controlling, for example what is the partnership/organisation, and
who exactly are we to deal with for various matters.2 What channels are we
being provided ,why some of them suddenly come on or are taken off at your
whims and fancies/for reasons
unknown to us.3.Where is the written contract regarding customers acceptance
of your rights and liabilities, terms and conditions that are maintainable
in Law.4.Who to contact for bad reception, when things go wrong, time frame
for redressal and where is the Complaint Register maintained.5.There is no
uniformity in rates for new connections etc
6.Why are fees hiked without the decency of intimation and reasons
thereof/no consultation.
People also object to your lines crossing their property, and wrongly
sstrung endangering material and physical security etc. You will loose the
goodwill and sympathy of your customers. If you cannot operate without
deceit and cheating, we suggest you close down and let those who can
legitimately function in Consumer interest do so.
You may call on us within one month of receipt of this letter to discuss
these matters truthfully with your explanation/problems. We would like your
assurance that Consumers interests and rights will be respected by you from
now on.
