Hi Wilson,

Yes there is a main Goan Association in Portugal with one of the best club
houses I have ever seen offered by the Municipality of Lisbon. A must see
(!!) if you are visiting Lisbon.

The name is - Casa de Goa - and it is the association not only of Goans
but also of those from Damao and Diu.

The web site is:

http://www.goacom.com/casa-de-goa

Unfortunately, the main language of the web site is Portuguese but there are
a few pages translated to English.

It is estimated that there are about 100,000 people of Goan origin residing
in Portugal.
The Hindu population (not necessarily from Goa but from all over India) is
also considerable and, in general, these are people who came from the
Portuguese colonies of Africa and chose to live in Portugal after the
independence of those colonies in 1975.

Emigration from Goa to Portugal is also increasing exponentially due to the
Portuguese Nationality Law which allows people born in the old Estado da
India Portuguesa to retain their Portuguese Citizenship, which they had when
they were born (if born before 1961).

Best regards,
Paulo Colaco Dias.
