We have different views about people and politics. Yes I erred and that is no gret deal. I will comment about these two characters:
1. Mr. Colin Powell is intelligent but an Ubncle Tom - black outside and white outside like an oreo cookie. He, I repeat, was booed when he attempted to criticize Robert Mugabe regarding his land seizures. The word seizure ought to be return of the land to the rightful people who owned it initially. The damned British took the best land in N. Ireland and gave it to Scotish Protestants, took land from Blacks and gave it to Whites in Kenya and Zimbabwe, took land from the Native Indian and killed them with bullets and disease in N. America. And you consider Powell Presidential material? Thank God, I do not have a slavish mentality.
2. And now you consider Kissinger smart. Crroks everywhere are smart. You have to be smart to be a crook. He was the one who acquiesced in murder in Chile and who permitted Pinochet to usurp power using the CIA. More than 3000 Chileans were murdered by Pinochet and his henchmen. Do you want to know how? Thrown out of planes into the sea. No bodies found and hence no proof. Slobodan Milosevic is an angel compared with Pinochet. And also Sadam Hussein.
When people like you and the Westerners use a different yardstick to judge others even Idi Amin can be considered saints.

Thanks for the update. Actually, I am yet to receive the original
mail from Edgar, on Goanet.
And Edgar, I do know quite well as to who is appointed and who is
elected in the US! It has been said that Henry Kissinger is the
smartest American not to have become a President, although he pretty
much ran the Nixon and Ford Administrations! He was born in Germany.
The US law requires that a future President is born in the US. Also,
it was mentioned that Ms. Albright could very well become the
President of Czechoslovakia, if she were to run there, as she was
born there.
As for Colin Powell, whatever his party affiliations, he is a smart
man. Only problem is, he is perhaps in the wrong party. Before the
last elections, he was tipped to be a Presidential candidate and the
moment his name was mentioned, he got a lot of hate mail from all
across the US. His wife was more concerned about it than Mr. Powell.
She did not want her husband to run for office.
