Injustice and suffering are not the prerogatives of politics. The Church too is guilty of injustice. One has to accept this as part of a sordid world. I am unable to grasp the need for Saints if they are already in heaven. A queer case to point is the current desire of many to have the chaplain of the New York firemen who died in the WTC bombing who was much adored as a model human being. He was gay and if he is canonised, he will be the patron saint of a section of our persecuted bretheren.
The inquisition and the treatment of Galileo are examples of the errors of the Church and I consider them very grave errors for which innocents suffered at the hands of the Holy Sea. If one considers Pdr. Vaz a Saint, then he is a Saint. Lets keep asking him to intercede for us and let time take its cource.

Dear friends in Christ: ALL SAINTS" DAY is around the corner and that is a good time to remember that the Church has, probably, canonized only a small fraction of all the souls in heaven. There are probably many reasons why some "saintly" souls never receive from the Catholic Church, the recognition they deserve. Politics is often claimed to be the main reason why some, like Pd. Jose Vaz, are not canonized as soon as many would want. A casual and UNscientific study, based on GOSSIP makes me wonder if the politics of miracles has anything to do with the non-canonization of "Sant" Naik It is said and sad that the caste system is ingrained in the genes of many goans and I understand that some people are unwilling to come forward to provide evidence for an apparent miraculous cure through the intercession of Fr. Vaz. Some people say they can't believe that God would work a miracle in the house of "Bostiao" considering that "Bostiao" isn't even! the RIGHT Caste! Bambino
