Dear Sir,

GOA HERITAGE FESTIVAL 2002, CAMPAL HERITAGE PRECINCT, CAMPAL, PANAJI, GOA
26TH-27TH NOVEMBER 2002 10 A.M. TO 9.P.M.

The Goa Heritage Action Group and its festival partners Panjim Municipal
Council and the Department of Tourism, Government of Goa is proud to
announce the holding of the second Goa Heritage Festival on 26th-27th
November 2002.

You will recall having attended the Festival at the Goa Kala Academy last
year. This year we are holding the festival against the backdrop of the
beautiful Indian Art Deco residential bungalows at Campal, Panaji in the
lanes of the heritage precinct.

The Festival will include academic discussions and lectures, demonstrations
by ten Goan architectural craftspeople, a food stall with traditional Goan
dishes, a book stall with books on Goa and an exhibition of Goan artifacts,
cooking vessels and traditional utility items. The Group is also bringing
out a publication titled Parmal (Fragrance) on the occasion and will be
launching its own website at the inaugural ceremony. The evening will see
live performances on a stage especially erected in the precinct punctuated
by recitation of poems in Konkani by three Goan poets and traditional songs.

The aim of the Festival is to generate better awareness on Goan heritage,
its problems and solutions and to make heritage conservation a pleasurable
activity shared by the entire Goan community.

To help us generate this awareness, we would be most grateful if you could
make the time and come for a press conference on November 15th, 2002 at 5
p.m. at the Panjim Municipal Council Conference Room, Panaji and join us for
tea and snacks thereafter. A press note and some photographs have been
prepared for your use. Members of the organizing committee and officials of
our festival partners will also be present at the conference to answer any
questions.

With best wishes,
Yours sincerely,

Dr. Gustavo Pinto
