Mumbai Phone Numbers change from 10th November.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Beginning this Sunday 10th November, Mumbai
rings in gigantic operation that will change phone numbers
of an entire nation. Mumbai, with the highest phone density,
is the first to go.
The Capital will follow in a couple of months, and
the rest of the country in quick phases. Everybody moves
one digit up. Cities with seven-digit phone numbers change
to eight and the six-digit cities change to seven.
After this change, the Department of Telecommunications -
which has been planning this for the last two years -
say they won't bother you for the next 15 years.
QUICK GUIDE

- Add 2 to your existing MTNL number
-Call 197 for MTNL enquiries.
-Call 1957 toll free from Hughes lines or
5599 3333 from other lines
HERE'S WHAT YOU CAN DO:

-Change the entries on your mobile phone.
-Your Phone Diary.
-Call your friends,relatives,business associates
before Sunday and inform them about your new numbers
-Add auto-signature to your email,
mentioning your new number.
-Send mass mails about number change in a spiffy format
that Hughes has come up with on its website
-Send mass SMSes about new numbers.
