Curca residents oppose high tension line
------------------------------------------------------------
The residents of Curca have demanded to stop the erection of
high tension line along the main road of Curca-Merces which
may lead to any untoward incidents."These lines are so close
to the houses in our locality, that any kind of incidents could
occur," cautioned secretary of the Curca-Bambolim Nagrik Samiti,
Agnelo Cardozo.
He further asserted, that the route of high tension lines have to change
from a nearby hilly area. Mr Cardozo told Herald, that a resolution
pertaining to this has been passed by the Gram Sabha recently.
The Electricity Department, he claimed, has assured the Curca-Bambolim-
Talaulim panchayat, that the department would take necessary action
into the matter.
So far, the Department has completed the work of erecting the poles,
while, electricity wires are yet to be pulled. The Samiti has also submitted
memorandums to Chief Minister, Manohar Parrikar, Power Minister,
Digambar Kamat and Chief Engineer of Electricity, R A Ghalli
for necessary action.
