The Aldona Institute under the Presidentship of Macbeth da Rocha planned and presented a party which, while being fun,was a learning experience.The games were designed by the Social Secretary,Tony Fernandes,who also came up with a Christmas Quiz that had the children fully involved for the better part of an hour. The games were for individuals as well as for pairs and involved skills that are useful for children. Most parents who accompanied their children to the party appreciated this. The entire programme was conducted in an orderly manner,with the Santa Claus leading the children for their snacks and gifts,singing all the way. There were two jolly clowns who volunteered to do the trial runs for the games of skill like bowling the nine-pins,carrying a glass of water or even stamping out the balloon and putting on the shoes. The clowns carried a brush and a mop to convey the message of cleanliness. There were no lectures. All the children deposited their paper plates in the waste paper baskets at the end of the party. There were no paper plates blowing around as is the case after events even for the so-called 'grown-ups' There were smiling faces beneath the red Santa caps gifted to each child by the Aldona Institute.
