Of late we have seen quite an interest in OUR Goan Heritage , language , Culture , History etc by Goans world wide. I am glad that the momentum of getting to know more about ourselves is , I believe the pride of being a Goan ! Whilst others are enjoying Goa , we Goans seem not to , at least some of us. It was precisely because of this that we the co ordinators of World Goa Day chose * Giving something back to Goa * as the theme for this Year celebrations. I was glad to read of Cipriano's willingness to contribute ....Two thousand dollars towards the welfare of his village s health project.**(detailed here below) I welcome his generous intentions and his interest to help his village. I thought that I would take this opportunity of making it known to those who may not be aware , that ....We have a Goan Charitable organistion in the USA that is doing some work in this field. It is known as the International Goan Health Project (IGHP) "Goa Sudharop supports the IGHP, a project working in partnership with doctors in Goa,Europe and N.America to help improve standards of health care in Goa." and other places too. We have not had much of publicity on this project , but with the help from the members of this e-group , I am sure we will. I will let Dr.Max or George enlighten us ... we need more Volunteers - Doctors and lay persons to make this project a success.
