Would someone be so kind as to tell me where I could get: - a copy ( in english ) of the Portuguese Civil Code as applicable to Goa; - an authoritative book(s) ( in english ) on the Family Laws of Goa? Lawrence ----- << "STATE MUST HAVE OWN FAMILY LAW": "The State must have a Goa Family Code," Opposition leader Pratapsing Rane said during the Question Hour on February 14 while expressing concern over various family-related issues which he opined are in dire need of attention. The issue was raised by Santa Cruz MLA Victoria Fernandes, who also raised serious concern over certain unrealistic and non-progressive gender-biased sections and clauses such as those referring to infertility and polygamy found in the Portuguese Civil Code applicable to Goa. Urban Development Minister said that the committee set up by the government to draft the bill on a Goa Family Code would look into all these aspects.
