CHALLENGE TO USA.
That the war is going to take place against Iraq is a different matter but what is of paramount importance is that the might of one super power � USA � is challenged by the non-super powers. Earlier it was only the other existing super power Soviet Russia that was challenging the might of USA but now even USA�s once partner France is challenging the might not only of USA but also of their closest colleague and neighbour UK. Whether what Russia, China & France are trying to do is right or wrong is the different matter but what is of significance is that USA and its strong ally UK are not allowed to take things for granted. The demonstration and the voices raised by giants of human beings against the war are to be admired. The openly declared opposition by France, Russia, China and other tin pot nations to USA and UK is something unimaginable till recently. Gone are the days when USA was taking granted nations like France and Germany. It is not their leaders who are opposing USA & UK stand but it is the people of these nations that are opposing the war against Iraq without the consent of UN. This shows the development and advancement of the people in those nations. Those people are aware of the trauma and difficulties of the war and precisely on these principles their leaders are acting namely Chirac � Schroeder � Putin and others. War is war and once it starts nobody knows in what direction it will end and how long it will take. This war against Iraq will not be the war for the liberation of Kuwait where the entire world in one way or the other joined together to kick Iraq out of occupied land Kuwait. USA led coalition succeeded because of the enormous might of the entire world was with USA. But now in the case of proposed forthcoming war against Iraq things may not be the same as it was for the last Gulf War because USA & UK along with their minnow�s partners are intending to go ahead without the backing of UN. If the war takes place without the full co-operation of UN then I am sure we may likely see the End of UN.
It is absolutely important that the credibility and existence of UN should be protected and only USA can do this. It is because of USA�s association with UN during the last half a century and plus years that UN survived as it is now with much credibility thus maintaining the peace in the world. Without UN existence and its majestic role in maintaining world peace there would be chaos in this orderly world. If for over half a century third world war not existed it was only because of strong UN role. UN remained strong because of the association of USA to it. Earlier similar organization was formed soon after the First World War namely League of Nations and that too with the initiative of USA only but unfortunately USA itself remained out of it and thus within a short period League of Nations collapsed like a pack of cards leading to the Second World War. If USA was membered in League of Nations I am sure USA would surely give strength and credibility to League of Nations, its actions and existence. This proves without doubt how important is going to be the association of USA to any World Body like UN.
One thing is certain, even if USA along with UK and other minnows goes to war against Iraq none of the Veto Powers and other tin pot nations in the Security Council will be able to stop USA from furthering its ends. USA will surely treat all its opponents as � let the barking dogs bark but we will carry on with our sacred duty in protecting the world from existing Hitler i.e. Saddam Hussain who cares for nobody in this world. The opponents of the War are unfit to protect the world from the disastrous consequences if Iraqs, North Koreas and such nations are mushroomed with deadly weapons under their disposal. All these nations are ruled by dictatorial regimes and to entrust the deadly weapons into their hands is the worst crime. The stupidity of the leaders of these nations only USA and UK can understand better while the nations like Germany, France, China and now bankrupt Russia are commercial in nature, their motto is only commerce and their selfish ends. World can be better protected only by USA & UK even though they have their own ulterior motives. With all their defects we can still rely on these nations to protect the world from further disaster. The opponents of the war against Iraq do not completely rule out the waging of war but asking to maintain the credibility of UN and thereby giving more time for UN inspections. Saddam Hussain is the last person to surrender peacefully. He already once said to hell with UN by invading Kuwait. Soon after the invasion of Kuwait he made mockery of the then UN chief Xavier Peres Cuellar and the same thing now he will make of Kofi Anan. If Saddam has respect for UN he would listen to UN verdict during the time of invasion of Kuwait and walked out of Kuwait peacefully and gracefully. The very nations now opposing USA & UK were part of the same UN that was rejected by Saddam Hussain earlier during the invasion of Kuwait and yet they do not accept the true colours of Iraq. They try to block the move of USA against the likely war but they do not suggest strong alternative to disarm Iraq. During the last 12 years after the Gulf War Saddam Hussain did not care for world opinion and can anyone think he will change his mind now? He does not understand any language other than that of force and this force only will have to be used to pull him down. One man Saddam Hussain is creating nuisance of the peaceful world. If Saddam Hussain is allowed to go scot-free today then I am sure tomorrow may be the turn of other nations to face the same fate of disaster as of 11th September and invasion of the type of Kuwait as of 2nd August 1990. Nations like India should also think twice before accusing USA and UK for going ahead with the War against Iraq. If USA does not stop the spread and further growth of religious fanaticism I am sure India may face next to its border another Talebani movement. If Iraq earlier supported India, it should not be construed as a love for India but for Iraq�s own ulterior motives. Soon after the invasion of Kuwait Iraqi soldiers made Indians suffer the worst crisis in Kuwait and who can forget the misery Indians underwent while leaving from Kuwait during the invasion of Kuwait? Iraqis have not garlanded Indians after recognizing them as Indians in the camps in Iraq while returning home, in fact they have looted Indians when crossing the border from Iraq to Jordan and while in Kuwait during the invasion their soldiers have looted us,our houses and raped our women. It is the same Saddam Hussain and his gang that made Kuwait evacuee Indians miserable and this must not be forgotten by the current Indian leadership.
While concluding I still feel that War should be waged against Iraq only with the consent of UN in order to avoid the collapse of UN. I am more interested in the protection of strong UN as it is now and for this war to get O.K. from UN everything should be done even if it requires delaying the War. It is not Iraq that is more important now than the existence and survival of strong UN of course with the firm association of USA.
