To celebrate 2003 as the Konknni Asmitai year Thomas Stephens Konknni Kendr (TSKK) in collaboration with Mandd Sobhann and Nazareth Kuttam has produced the compact disc (CD) Bhakti Sobhann Vol. 1 of Konkani devotional songs. This CD contains 11 Konkani devotional songs and they promote interreligious dialogue. In these songs God has no specific name. The purpose of this CD is to promote respect for all religions and to encourage religous harmony in our country. Dr. Pratap Naik, S.J. has composed the lyrics. Mr. Eric Ozario of Mandd Sobhann has composed and directed the music. The music is a blend of eastern and western melodies and it evokes bhakti(devotion)within the listener. The artists (singers and instrumentalists) are from Catholic, Hindu and Muslim communities. Thus in the true sense of the term this CD is the production of the interreligious community. The CDs are available at TSKK for Rs. 125/- (Rupees one hundred and twenty five only). By the end of April 2003 we will release Bhakti sobhann Vol. 2 and Bhurgeanlem Sobhann Vols. 1 and 2 (Children's Konkani songs). Pratap Naik, S.J.
