Hi,
I though I'd write this little note as an introduction and encouragement to the people who run this site that we see has great promise.
We are a family of four - Olly, Marion, Carl and Olav (father, mother, son, son) and have been in Australia since 1988 and spent nearly a decade in the middle east before that. Some of our extended family ( Castellino/Menezes/D'Souza - grandparents, uncles, etc) are still in India - with a serious presence in Bombay (Mumbai) and in Goa (mostly Saligao and Assagaon).
FYI:
Olly is an Engineer and department Manager in a large multinational in Australia.
Marion is a Dentist and is director of a regional health service.
Carl has nearly finished a double degree in Arts/Law at the UNSW and Olav is in his 3rd year of Telecommunications Engineering at Sydney Uni.
We all feel good when we hear about Goa and have attended the GOA (goan overseas association) functions as members of the association.
Does anyone know who runs the Saligao net as this did not have a hot link?
Is there a Assagaon net?
One of my cousins and her husband own and run Pusada-Tauma near Calangute beach (www.pusada-tauma.com).
Well keep up the good work in Goa and with the WEB sites. The mailing groups are very informative.
Maybe someone should "induct" the GOA groups around the world and create links to their web sites.
The little I remember of the poor Konkani I spoke as we grew up in Bombay - I'd say "Deo -borea - korun" to everyone.
