To my accounts Mr.Menezes(?) seems to be one confussed individual. Oneday you bash the USA and the next your their bestfriend. I have read many of your postings on goanet and goyan. It is as if you are stuck at a traffic signal that just changes from green to red constantly.Do you just like to argue for the sake of argueing. Here are some of his famous quotes that makes me question his integrity:
I cannot understand why the US government wishes to single out Iraq for
possessing weapons of mass destruction. There are many other countries that possess the same.
A case in point is India. In India, many of its citizens are guilty of holding and even producing deadly biological weapons that are a serious threat to their neighbors. As a slap to the international community, much of this is done in the open and in the plain sight of everyone. For example, on a recent trip to N.India I noticed people relieving themselves along the freeways and railway tracks. I also observed miles upon miles of open, rotting garbage piles in many of the areas I passed through. I am sure US satellites and its U2 spy planes would be able to pick up this kind of evidence with no problems. I just don't understand why they have not brought this evidence to the UN.Furthermore, like Iraq, the Indian people have been guilty of releasing bio weapons on themselves. India recently caught up with European bio weapons
technology (of 15th century vintage) when they successfully released the plague in the 1990's. Likewise, consistent reports of cholera, smallpox, TB and malaria also suggest that India has active programs in propagating these deadly
diseases too.
Now, dont get me wrong, but if some of you come to the US and continue to partake in your foreign cultural activties, I suggest you get back in your boat and go back to where you came from!

America's domineering role in this world leaves a lot to be desired. We
continue to see this time, and time again. Its opposition to India's beloved ally and friend the Soviet Union led to the economic destruction of this worker's paradise. Today, Russia's peace keeping nuclear missiles, aircraft carries, land mines and cluster bombs lie dormant, slowly rusting away.
An even more outrageous show of American power was its support for England and its indiscriminate bombing and occupation of Nazi Germany in WW2. Nazi Germany was a natural supporter of India's freedom struggle against those British imperialists. The Nazis were also a firm ally of our Portuguese military junta friends who ruled Goa at that time. Where where all the fair minded Goans when the atrocities against the Nazis were being committed?

Perhaps it is time you cleared up your "brainwashed" mind (to use your terminology) and accept that following facts:
1) sky scrapers: N.Americans have amongst the highest levels of single home ownership in the world. They prefer not to live in tall apartments or sky scrapers. 2) aircraft carriers: America's share of GNP spending on defence is around 3 to 4%. This is much lower than most of the developing world. Its total defence spending is higher than the rest of the world combined, but this is a manifestation of its high nominal GNP. 3) Coke and wine: Bottled water is the fastest growing beverage in America. Californian wines are amongst the most highly regarded in the world. 4) Gas guzzling cars: I have already mentioned that a large chunk of automobiles currently sold in Europe do not meet US pollution standards. Vehicles in europe may be more efficient, but they also pollute more (specifically, NOx and particulates)
And no, I did not migrate from Goa, though I thoroughly
relish visiting it whenever I get the opportunity to do
so. For that matter, I am sure I would enjoy living in
Europe as well. Every country and culture is unique and
experiencing them all is something I would love to do.
I am sure that there are many in India ("hell" as you
call it) who are infatuated with America. However, it
seems that many in Europe also hold the same view - at
least based on the migration statistics from Europe to
America.In the final analysis, your envy of America, its way of life and its power is understandable. Given its emmense power, American values, culture, language and technology continues to spread around the world - unfortunately often at the cost of the local established ways that used to be followed for centuries. Perhaps you yearn for the good old days when you or your family could use (and perhaps abuse?) its position of power as part of the imported ruling class in europe's African colonies. How times have changed. Why is it that we are communicating on this forum in English rather than say Konkani or Portuguese? I think=20 it is sad that one culture and langugage has become so dominant, but this is reality. Was it not the Portuguese premier who hosted the "war conference" in the Azores last week? It seems to me that the Portuguese government gets its orders from Washington rather than from the people that elected it! I presume that most people in Portugal oppose the current war on Iraq. Need I provide you with more examples of American power ?
