Started playing drums at the tender age of 12, by 14 became a professional drummer and at the age of 26 became Goa's best drummer in the Goa Today polls 1987. In 1975 - played with a Goan band called "The Band", just after finishing High School at the age of 14. WILLIAM In 1978 - went to Europe for a couple of months played with a few bands along the country side. Studied music for a while. In 1978 - 1982 played along the coastal belt in Goa with foreign bands touring Goa and the rest of the country, styles of music, rock & roll, RnB,jazz, and an experimental bandcalled 'Embryo' from Germany had later influenced me to get into Carnatic music Bangalore who themselves were experimenting with various Indian musicians. After passing my Pharm (Bachelor in Pharmacy) I decided to enrole for a post graduation course in Mridangam (Indian Percussion) with the famous Vidwan T.A.S. Mani as my mentor from the Karnataka college of Percussion Bangalore. Then latter on I started experimenting carnatic rythums as a medium on western grounds and also took up to experimenting Bharatnatyam dance tradition i.e.using adavu (notations of dance) and Kanaku (notations of mridangam) then after playing with several reputed bands of different styles of music in Goa, In 1992 I decided to carry on studying Carnatic music in Bangalore which right now has become a vocation - a lifetime study. At the same time I joined up Gerard Machado's band called 'Network Playing Fusion' and Jazz also backed famous singer ex Human Bondage, Radha Thomas who returned form New York presently working for a Magazine called 'Bangalore this Fortnight' (BTF) Also performed with a very famous Carnatic fusion band led by VidushI Dr.Suma Sudheendra (Veena Player) the band called 'MEGHA' . In1993 recorded an album for Gerard Machado's Network called 'Spectrum' which has various styles and marketed Crescendo BMG music company which was released in 1994. Right now I freelance as a drummer performing Indian Rythums on Western Drums with various bands and also conduct workshops of same style around the country bands known are 'Waterfront', in Puna namely musicians (Derek Julien,Roger Dragonite and other prominent artist. I have reviews to support my performances namely midday dated 28th Dec '98 Deccan Herald dated 24th Oct '98, Teenager magazine Sept. issue '98, Asian Age Bangalore dated 11th Nov.
