Yes, these are indeed gruesome pictures on the reality of war....pictures that we probably never will see in our homes on any Western TV channels and pictures that we hope remain pictures vis-a-vis no wars close to home. I doubt any sane individual likes to go to war. But historically people have gone to war or waged a war to further their interests or to defend their interests. And in every war, without exception, you will see pictures like the ones in Mervyn's link. Does anybody have links to pictures from : - The Afghan war(s)......since 1979 - The Gulf War - Liberation of Kuwait.....1991 - The Iraqi Invasion of Kuwait......1990 - The Kosovo conflict..... - Ethnic cleansing in Bosnia - Ethnic cleansing in Rwanda - The Iran-Iraq war........1980-1988 - Torture at the hands of Saddam's security services. - Liberation of Goa - Partition of India and the list goes on....... If there are any....I doubt many of us would like to look at those pictures coz all wars have similar pictures. There is nothing new in a war other than the means to wage it. There's no point in singling out the US in this war. Propaganda can work both ways. Everybody knows War is a bad thing irrespective of who is fighting whom ! In the case of this war, all we hope is for the Iraqis to surrender sooner rather than later, cause the outcome is not uncertain. More people of Iraq will live to enjoy the abundant wealth that country is blessed with that has been squandered on military (mis)adventures in the past 25 years. - Bosco > Message: 4 > Date: Tue, 1 Apr 2003 21:51:10 -0500 (EST) > From: Mervyn Lobo <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: [Goanet] Re; The Americans are our best friends > Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > --- Carmo Dias <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > I wonder if the Canadian governmant is willing to > > cut their big brother > > strings.
