A foolish statement to be made.
Possessing a nuclear deterrent will not bring about a peaceful existence.
Human nature is such that there is always a rogue somewhere who wants to
spoil the fun. If India develops additional weapons of mass destruction, so
will its neighbours China and Pakistan with time.
It would be far better to channel the billions wasted on defence to
improving the well being of the world's largest poor population and
educating them on the evils of religious extremism .
Surely a mass population of less destruction is better than a weapon of mass
destruction.
