THIS COULD be good news for people who have links in Mumbai, either
work-related, business or professional.

The recent change in telephone rates (calling local mobiles from a
land-line have become costlier!) have brought in some relief to
long-distance callers.

You can call a Mumbai (Bombay) number from Goa by simply using the prefix
95-22. So, for example, to call up the Breach Candy Hospital, you can just
dial 95-22-23696194. You no longer have to ring up 022.23696194.

What this means is that you need not talk in such a hurried pace any more.
Instead of every two or four seconds costing you approx Rs 1.25, now
someone in Goa can talk for 30 seconds for Rs 1.25. Even in peak daytime.

This makes communication between Goa and Mumbai easier, or at least
cheaper.

What I have still not understood is how to get a call through from Mumbai
*to* Goa using the 95 option. I tried 95-832... but it doesn't seem to
work. Could someone at BSNL explain how it works? FN
