Rina Ray, Health Secretary is the ex-officio vice chairman and V P Shetye, Law Secretary and Dr Arvind Salelkar, Director of Health Services are ex-officio members.
The members are Adv Elgar Noronha, Suchita Malkarnekar, Lisia Albuquerque, Prasad Neverekar, Dr Deepak Lawande, Dr Philomena Pereira, Jagdish Raghuvanshi, Dr Manoj Solanki Chief Medical Officer (family Welfare) is ex-officio member secretary.
The Board will function to create public awareness against the practice of pre-conception sex selection and pre-natal determination of sex of the foetus leading to female foeticide in the State.
The Board will also review activities of appropriate authorities functioning in the State and recommend appropriate action against them besides other matters related to implementation of the Act.
