Deborah Santamaria was re-lelected as Secretary to the Catholic Women's Guild for a further period of 2 years. A news round up Since then we have had our Recolection day at Manora Island St Anthony's Chapel. Thereafter we had our Easter function at St Lawrence's Parish. On May 18th we celebrated Mothers Day at KGA we had 197 ladies who attended this function. This time we arranged this event in a different manner. We asked all the ladies to come forward and form a double line. They were taken in a grand march and taken on stage, thereafter 2 ladies were called and had to do a catwalk in front of the judges. We had 3 rounds the first was a grand march, the second was a question round and the third a talent round. In this round ladies were asked to prepare a salad in 5 minutes with the ingredients provided. We had the mother of the year as well as two runner-up. All ladies who attended the session were given a gift a special mug made for the ocassion with HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY. Deborah had also written a song Konkanim version of Mother of Mine which she sang at the Mother's Day function. In August we plan to have a Family day and mini mela. Some time in August we also plan to have a Mini Carnival for the special children of various homes. We have definitive plans to celebrate WORLD GOA DAY , Deborah has written songs in Konkanim which she plans to put up at the Goa day. Will keep you posted of the Goa day event.
