KONKANI TIATRO IN KUWAIT.

Generally speaking the directors and organizers must know that when they charge
KD 5/- per person to attend the Tiatro then they make themselves duty bound to
give something good. Denying the people the benefits of the money they spent is
like a robbery and moreover keeping the people in the hall for lengthy hours
without proper amenities in the hall is like punishing them which is nothing but
a crime. Such crimes should be avoided as far as possible otherwise Konkani
lover tiatro goers will stop patronizing this dwindling art of over 100 years
old. It is said many times that Konkani people are not patronizing Konkani
Tiatro. But if one observes carefully it is the tiatrists who are responsible
for forcing the tiatro goers to boycott the tiatros.

I am in total agreement and concurrence with the above remarks of Mr. A.Veronica
Fernandes.

Konkani munnei asa: "Appurbai Ghara koddem, Nhuim Voddea koddem".

It is equally the responsibility of the tiatr presenters (which in my opinion
include the writer-director-participating actors-organizers-publicists-visiting
artistes-musicians-stage settings, etc.) to ensure that credible, professional
and worthwhile performance is provided.

Often I have observed on the publicity material (handbills, press release, etc.)
claiming... "unique", "for the very first time", "never see before", "lightings,
scenes, music", etc.....and then to the horror of us sitting in the audience...
a thought flash to our mind... well, this will be my last time!

...And then for love of Konkani and in fond rememberance of the tiatrs of
yesteryears... we often fall prey to witness yet another tiatr...

We have now been informed that there are atleast 4 dramas and 2 Konkani shows
announced in Kuwait. We only pray that this messages goes to all of them, ravon
na pavon!

Oxem zaum, zalear puro!
