Dear Muriel & Mario:
Remember this: In the world of commerce the Customer is King. As long as you let the service provider/supplier get away with substandard services they will do it.
In a world of fast-paced technological changes, there will be periodical upgrades, resulting in minor inconveniences. Can these transitions be smoother? You bet! With a bit of foresight and planning much better service can be provided. However, like most other things in Goa, there is hardly a thought put in regarding inconveniences to the public. The Goa Telecom Telephone directory is just one example, and its a ridiculous waste of funds and effort to issue an already defunct (outdated) phone book.
As a consumer you have all the right to protest, --for you pay for this service-- and the best way to voice consumer complaints is via mass media the Newspapers and Internet (e-propagation) can play significant roles, to this end.
Goa can be an ideal state, only if the Goan public is NOT complacent. You guys are creating awareness -- Awareness being the operative work. I am glad you are sowing the seeds of awareness that will bear fruit sooner than later- voices will be heard and progress will be made!
Best wishes,
Joe Vaz

anOTHERgoa <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wirtes: Date: Thu Jun 26, 2003 4:30pm Subject: [Goanet] NEW ADDRESS...Yet Again!
[Dear Netters,
Kindly send your messages to our NEW address: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
We have just confirmed that till 30th June, BSNL-Goa will not be redirecting mail from the [EMAIL PROTECTED] to the [EMAIL PROTECTED], even though they promised to do so in a message to subscribers.
Till then, can you imagine the plight of 16,000 emailers in Goa? Should we use the new one and lose mail till the 30th? Or should we wait till the 30th and risk someone using our Sancharnet account because of the open password they have sent us?
This is the fifth time in six years that a change of email address is being forced on subscribers. It must be a record of sorts - especially this time without immediate forwarding facilities to the new address. BSNL in Goa is either oblivious to the chaos and tremendous hardship caused to subscribers or they just do not care!
Apologies for the inconvenience. Please do not forget to use our @sancharnet.in address.
Solidarity.
Muriel & Mario.
