These cases have been booked in the talukas of Tiswadi, Ponda, Mormugao, Salcete and Bardez, against the milk sellers, for an offence committed by them under the Standards of Weights and Measures (Packaged Commodities) Rules 1977, for charging Rs 8 against Rs 7.25 to consumers.
The Goa Dairy has also issued a circular stating 500 ml and 1 lt packets of milk should be sold at Rs 7.25 and Rs 17 respectively.
