Hello Martin:

Nice to hear from you and thanks for your comments on the Peshawar Express
posting from by my good Pak(istan)i friend, Bert.

Strangely enough, some colo(u)r words are often misconstrued. When in Lahore,
I realized that the friendlier one was, the more abuses or slang words are
traded. Even here in the USA, the n-word is taboo, but amongst blacks it is very
much in vogue :-)

There was, and probably still is Anthony Company & Coy., General Order
Suppliers (and Catholic Repository), on Clarke Street, Camp -- Karachi. This address
is from an October 1940 receipt of the Holy Bible (Douay Version) which my
dad purchased for Rs. 6.00 on my First Holy Communion. Besides the Catholic
connection, the owner happened to be from Bastora, Goa. And surely there'll be
many other sources for the books you seek -- Faquir has offered to provide local
help there.

Hope you found the information I sent on the Archdiocese of Karachi's website
useful.

Good luck in the quest to find your ROOTS:
