What Tino is not aware is that the Goan migrants in USA and Canada maybe from Bombay 400 002. Therefore these migrants may not be having much knowledge or affinity to Goa culture. Colaco Incidentally what I know is Bombay 400 002 is where the Goan heart has been from the early 19th century. - This is where Goans from Goa congregated when they emigrated from Goa. - This is where hundreds of village clubs dot the landscape (I'm sure some still exist today). - This is where most of the tiatrs were held in days gone by. - This is also where many village socials were held. - This is where Goan music supremo Chris Perry lived. Maybe many others too. - This was the lauchpad cum pit-stop for probably all Goans that subsequently emigrated to East Africa and your Macau. Subsequently Goans that acquired affluence moved away from Bombay 400 002. Others have immigrated to the the Gulf, US, Canada, UK, Australia, NZ, Macau, etc... All of these Goans, I'm certain carry with them varying levels of knowledge of and affinity for Goan culture. I'm not too sure whether you are trying to slight an individual who has debated this thread or the whole group of Goan emigres in the USA and Canada. Maybe you can enlighten us on activities initiated by Goans in Macau to foster Goan culture - other than speaking Portuguese that is !! - Bosco ########################################################################## # Send submissions for Goanet to [EMAIL PROTECTED] # # PLEASE remember to stay on-topic (related to Goa), and avoid top-posts # # More details on Goanet at http://joingoanet.shorturl.com/ # # Please keep your discussion/tone polite, to reflect respect to others # ##########################################################################
