SKY BUS METRO: The State government is contemplating on having a Sky Bus Metro for Panjim from the KTC bus stand to Miramar. This was disclosed by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar during and interactive session with Together for Panjim, a campaign initiated by the CCP, on mass transit systems for Panjim, held in the city on Tuesday. Goa doesn't need sky buses & film festival venues that urgently. The KTC terminal needs to be given a better look first. The Panjim bus stand is a pitiful sight, full of big pot holes & quite a filthy place to enter.
Also, the work of tarring the roads undertaken by the Corporation of the City of Panaji wasn't all that good. The area of the road at the starting of the Mandovi bridge (the one-way bridge) which was tarred just recently has already been washed away partly resulting in potholes.
Panjim also badly needs proper parking areas. I personally do not like this idea of "Pay Parking" which the govt. is planning of implementing. I don't see why we vehicles riders have to pay for parking as well, when we are already paying road tax. It should be made compulsory that all residential & commercial buildings provide a parking area within their building premises. Besides, there should be other parking areas for the public.
CM Parrikar should look into these smaller problems before venturing into bigger affairs which will start another bunch of problems when those get started.
