In a meeting yesterday at Miramar, the citizens said they were not opposed to the project per se but wanted the expansion to be restricted between the fences on either side of the present road. "BJP WILL DITCH THEM": Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president Luizinho Faleiro said the BJP's intent in getting MLAs of regional outfits to join its party was to exploit them and ditch them. Reshma Chandrakant Dalvi bagged the first place, followed by Supriya Sawal (Xavier's College) and Aarti Gaonkar (SAI) in the women's race (3.3 km). Anita Rodrigues, veteran athlete and secretary of the Goa Amateur Athletic Association, who supervised the event, said that she has been appointed to revive the Association, which had remained dormant for several years. She lauded the SFX Higher Secondary School management for supporting the event in Siolim village.
