A booklet issued by "AP Publishers" (date unknown) entitled "The National
Flag and The National Anthem" says:

The national flag consists of three colours e.g. saffron on the top, white
in the middle and green at the bottom.

Saffron:- Indicative of enthusiasm and sacrifice
White:- Indicative of truth and peace
Green:- Indicative of faith and bravery.

On the white strap of the National Flag there is Ashok Chakra blue in
colour having 24 spokes. The Chakra signifies motion and progress.

I think that the spinning wheel referred to by Joe Lobo and Fernando Peres
da Costa is not this "Chakra" but is called "Charka".
