It was in January, when the American missionary James Cooper was attacked near Trivandrum by Sangh Parivar.... Response:- A well written unbiased authoritative piece of journalism. We sincerely hope that what is happening in Gujarat, Kerala and elsewhere in India, will not take effect in Goa. I hopefully believe that the C.M. is cleverly manipulating all cocnerned to remain the supremo. So long as the status quo remains Goa should be safe from these problems. The Christians are the biggest minority in Goa, who have traditionally lived peacefully with all their neighbours irrespective of their religious beliefs. I have been in taxis and buses where along side the picture of the Madona is a picture of Ganesh, a sort of live and let live situation. We have had unparalleled secularism in Goa which is much vied all over India. The rest of the educated middle class Indians love Goa for what it is and what it stands for. The defectors in Goa to the BJP party should put Shri Parrikar on notice that they will come along but not for the full ride, if the ride means short changing their fellow Goans.
