GOACOM DAILY NEWS CLIPPINGS 09 Aug 2003 INSPECTORS TO CHECK SOFT DRINK PLANTS: The Food and Drugs Administration has directed its inspectors to check the factory premises of two soft drink companies, bottling their beverages in Goa, in the wake of the CSE findings on pesticide contamination. The CSE report prompted the Goa FDA to draw samples at random from the soft drinks being marketed by Coke and Pepsi here. (GT)
PET BOTTLES SEIZED: Stocks of over 125 PET bottles of soft drinks were seized from retailers at Taleigao and the city markets in Panaji yesterday by the Food and Drugs Administration officials for keeping them on sale beyond 'Best before' date. (GT) CITY HOTELS UNHYGIENIC: Startling findings were made at most of the 28 restaurants that were checked by a team comprising personnel from Corporation of the City of Panaji, health, sewage and water departments. The surprise visits were conducted over the past week have, so far, covered eateries in the areas around Azad Maidan.
