Greetings on World Goa Day !!
Friday Balcao the fortnightly discussion event to be held on 22nd August will feature the topic Giving back to Goa the theme of the World GOA Day 2003.
The discussion will have a sharing by Goans overseas and those who have returned to Goa, on ways and means of contributing to the socio- cultural, economic and political well being and future of the State and its people.
Over the years there have been many views on the way overseas Goans can contribute their time, skills, talents and expertise. Some views have over emphasized finances as to be the only contribution of Overseas Goans.
The Balcao discussion will seek to understand various perspectives on what "Giving back to Goa" means to Overseas Goans.
Mario Fernandes from Divar/UK will lead the discussion with a sharing of his viewpoint and personal experiences.
Those citizens wanting to contribute to the discussion at Friday Balcao are urged to attend the event while those who cannot attend the event may send their views and action plan suggestions by post to FRIDAY BALCAO Post Box 78, Mapusa 403 507 or by email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
The Friday Balcao will be from 4pm to 6pm at the Goa Desc Resource Centre No.11 Liberty Apartments Feira Alta, Mapusa and is open to members of the public.
Those citizens who would like to receive the regular invitation to Friday Balcao and a one page synopsis of the fortnightly session can subscribe for the same by sending Rs.80/- to cover printing and mailing costs.
