Devang Metha will perform a solo guitar recital on Aug 27, 2003 (Wednesday) at 6 pm, for an hour's duration. Devang took his initial guitar lessons with Dilip Arondekar in Vasco. Later, he took initial to intermediate lessons in theory and singing at the Kala Academy. He has been influenced in his musical journey by Nauzer Daruwalla, Arnold Saldanha and Schubert Cotta.
In 1995, he did his Performer's Certificate of the Trinity College of Music. 1996 saw him do a stint as a guitar teacher in the Kala Academy's Department of Western Music. He now teaches guitar and piano in Vasco, besides performing popular music in the hotel industry. Last year, he gave his first solo recital at Hotel Lapaz at Vasco.
