Thank you Agnelo. If I was to write as much,Edgar might have thought I was fibbing as wildly as he does. 1.I have not *apologised* for posting an untruth. I have only stated that I stand corrected to the extent I had been inaccurate.(Fundacao Oriente did receive funds from the casinos in Macao. It did not 'operate' the casinos. This has been borne out by the postings of Paul and Rui Colaco )
2.If after doing my Masters in Agriculture with Crop physiology as my" elective" and after having just edited a "Resource Book" for the Rice-Wheat Consortium ( an unit of the Centro Internacionale de Mejoramiento de Mays y Trigo or CIMMYT),I still have to learn the basics of soil chemistry from Edgar,he must consider himself very intelligent ,indeed. Or does he consider that all Goans in Goa are 'mediocre'. I have remained in Goa by choice, not due to lack of opportunity.I have fifteen years of field experience in the Directorate of Agriculture. Sitting in this little state ,I have edited reasearch papers of Dr.Prabhu Pingali of CIMMYT who is now the Director of FAO (not pao) of UN ,using the same Net facilities (and PDF software,in addition) that Edgar uses to pretend to be smarter-than-thou to us. Goans in Goa are no duds,either,Mr.Edgar. I am copying a part of his e-mail written sometime ago. You have just written an apology regarding the money that Fundacao Oriente and their link to gambling casinos. I am no dud and want him to know that *gypsum is alkaline* and not acidic. It will *raise* the ph value of the soil if used. Edgar Miguel wrote.... Dear Goanetters, There is a thing called 'appropriate technology'. Farmers in the interior districts of Maharashtra and Karnataka apply gypsum to their fields. If you apply gypsum in Goa it will spell disaster. Their soils are alkaline, our soils are acidic. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
