The address is [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- website http://www.nrigoa.com Please get in touch with them, and let them know of the contact details of Goan associations overseas, and also the issues/problems you would like to see addressed. It appears that both sides are facing communication problems, not being able to locate/talk to each other. While on this thread, what are the ten most important issues for overseas Goans that you feel need to be addressed? My list: 1. Educational facilities for children (specially for Gulf-based expats). Professional education should be sufficient, and of a wide enough range. Fees could be unsubsidised. 2. Domicile clauses meant for 'sons of the soil' should not cut into the interests of expats (i.e. 'grandsons of the soil') 3. Dabolim remains a major bottleneck. The Navy monopolisation of significant chunks, which disrupt flight schedules, should be sorted out. Overall, getting into and out of Goa by other means of transport too remains a bottleneck. 4. No infrastructure/mechanism available for tapping skills of professional and otherwise-skilled Goans returning. 5. Communication facilities need improvement, an issue which affects expats and their families. 6. The lack of data about Goa's expats makes it difficult to even understand the extent of the issue. This aspect needs to be seriously worked on. 7. Foreign passport-holders returning to Goa for holiday or short stays need a mechanism to get access to local necessities (e.g. buying a vehicle, getting a driving licence, etc). Vivian has spoken repeatedly about this problem. 8. Transparency in the system needs much working on. The system for justice and redressal is meaningless if it takes years to get justice. 9. Security of assets of expats should be ensured. 10 Laws should not be discriminatory against non-residents, who have migranted due to historical reasons. This list, is, of course, incomplete and inadequate. Perhaps the emphasis and prioritisation is also incorrect. It's just meant as a means of stoking debate on an issue that needs to be raised, today rather than after further delay.
