It is very sad news that Rajan Narayan will soon be quitting the most popular English daily -Herald. Many readers, like myself, have been missing his "Stray Thoughts" in the last two Sundays. The reasons are now obvious. Rajan Narayan, through his forceful editorials and Stray thoughts" was able to expose many of the misdeeds of Mr. Parrikar, but what apparently infuriated the latter most was the embarrassing revelation that he dines at one of the gaddas in Mapuca. At last, Mr. Parrikar has shown his true colours and we, complacent Goans, need to take a note of the new Salazar that we have in Goa.No wonder, he had once confessed being an admirer of Indira Gandhi. Rajan Narayan had already reminded Parrikar that it was a Raj Narayan who had defeated Indira after she had declared Emergency and gagged the Press. One can be quite confident that it will now be the turn of our Rajan Narayan to defeat Parrikar through his writings. After all the pen is mightier than the sword. Though not a Goan, Rajan Narayan proved to be more a Goan than many of us, never tired, never afraid of defending the interests of Goa and Goans. Herald will never be the same without Rajan Narayan Jose Maria Miranda - Margao ########################################################################## # Send submissions for Goanet to [EMAIL PROTECTED] # # PLEASE remember to stay on-topic (related to Goa), and avoid top-posts # # More details on Goanet at http://joingoanet.shorturl.com/ # # Please keep your discussion/tone polite, to reflect respect to others # ##########################################################################
