More then 500 youth have benefited from the Chief Minister's "Rojgar Yojana" wherein the government has sanctioned more than Rs six crore. Regarding the "Deendayal Swayam Rojgar Yojana", the government claimed that this self employment scheme for small entrepreneurs has opened up around 100 kiosks and about 500 kiosks are to be alloted by March 2004. It describes the "Krishi Ghars" as a scheme for horticulture and floriculture. The government puts the "Dayanand Social Security Scheme" high in the sector of social welfare, women and child development, stating that it covers senior citizens, the disabled, single women and widows. More than 50,000 persons have benefited from this scheme and another 10,000 will be covered by March 2004, the government brochure claims. Describing the Children's Act, 2003, as the first of its kind in India, the government states that it will empower children as the future of India. In education sector, the "Cyberage Students scheme" is described as a scheme to help create an e-literate state. It also boasts of the infrastructure loan scheme. It claims that the revenue collection has risen to Rs 120 crore per month in the present year from the previous Rs 63 crore per month. While more than Rs 5-crore has been invested in Goa Tourism Development Corporation, the tourist arrival in Goa has shot up, the government claims. In the health sector, it states that during 2002-03, Rs 6.05 crore has been disbursed to 1001 patients under the Mediclaim scheme. The government claims to have expedited e-governance and claims that Goa was selected as a permanent venue for the international film festival due to the persistent efforts of the BJP-led state government.
