Hi everyone, I am writing this note around midnight which means that I am very restless and extremely dissapointed and am finding it very hard to go to bed. Here is my dilemna: we had recently purchased our tickets for Goa (my husband has to go and see his sick Dad) - when he went to the Indian consulate in San Francisco, he was told that there would be a delay in processing his VISA only because he was born in Pakistan. He is an American Citizen and holds an American passport but apparently it means nothing. I contacted a friend in San Francisco who is also an American Citizen, born in Pakistan - he has been waiting for his VISA for 4 months, he is so frustrated that he finally cancelled his trip in December. Unfortunately, we cannot wait that long - we have already asked for time off which by the way is very difficult to get in the STates. Besides, we will have to pay a hefty penalty to cancel each ticket. I find this to be utter nonsense and I do not understand why Pakistanis from Pakistan can move freely in India yet they make it difficult for an American Citizen born in Pakistan. Any comments or explanation into this matter? Thank you all for listening.
