A day long workshop on "Organic Farming" will be held at Hotel Mandovi on Thursday, 06 November,2003 under the auspices of the Goa Government[Directorate of Agriculture] and APEDA.
The Keynote address will be delivered by Dr.J.S.Mann, Additional Horticulture Commissioner,Govt. of India at 10.15 A.M. This will be followed by a short film of APEDA before the address of Mr.D.S.Negi,the dynamic Chief Secretary of Goa who has been making all things possible. He was the Secretary for Agriculture for a short period but has made a big difference to agriculture in Goa. May his tribe increase. Mr. Sanjay Bansal,Managing Director of Sampath Vikas Ltd, will speek at 12 noon on "Marketing Opportunities in Organic Products." Mr.Ram Challapa of Ion Exchange Enviro Farms,Mumbai[ a sister concern of the water purifier majors,Ion Exchange, which had a farm unit near Selaulim dam in Quepem] will speak about" Commercial Success of Organic Farming" Responding to the participants' wishes for interaction ,and building upon the experience in the orchid production interactions, the Directorate of Agriculture has included a Q & A session in this workshop.
