Marlon has now linked his claim for patron saint of Goa to his Divar past. To know that such claims from Divar are not new and go back to some centuries, you may consult http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Forum/1503/Divar_Saint.htm Incidentally, Joseph Vaz too is closely connected with Divar. At least one of his most literate companions was from there and, if I am not mistaken, has the local parish school dedicated to him! The parish residence of Piedade has interesting large size pictures of these 17th-18th centuries personalities of the Goan church! Marlon is certainly trying to keep up the tradition, but probably in reverse gear!? Or perhaps in fast gear? There is also a saying in Divar that no priest can come from a Menezes family. I had written also in 70s in *Goa Today* about the historical background of this tradition.
