In the meantime, I would like to share with you and our readers my knowledge on the word �KONKNNO�:
1. To me, �Konknno� in Konkani means �Hindu�. In Bardez, Hindus are majority.
2. All of us (Goan Christians) were born �Hindus� �konknnes�.
3. We were then baptized and became Christians.
4. Everyone who belongs to the Konkan belt is known as a �KONKANKAR� � not �KONKNNO�.
5. Since we Goans belong to the Konkan belt, we are �KONKANKARS� � not �KONKNNES�.
6. Konkani speaking Hindus in Karnataka are known as �KONKANNAS� � not �KONKNNES�
7. KONKANI is the language of �KONKANKARS� (HINDUS, CHRISTIANS, MUSLIMS, etc.) - not of �KONKNNES� only.
I hope the above gives you a better idea of the word �Konknno�.
I am explaining the above in English because we still do not have complete Konkani vocabulary. For example, this morning I could not find a suitable Konkani word for �contextually�. So, ended up in writing my short message in English language.
Please feel free if you still have any doubts on my explanation of the word �Konknno�. Criticism is always welcome provided it is a healthy one. At the same time, please don�t forget that we are still in the learning process!
