The stage is set to present the sixth annual PLANT UTSAV from 28 to 30 November,2003 at the Municipal Garden ,Panaji-Goa. Entries[including on-the-spot entries] for potted plants and arborics will be accepted at the venue on 27 November from 10 A.M. to 6 P.M. .Please contact Dr.Frieda Barreto/Mahesh Kankonkar. As usual for BSG events, Round-the-clock security has been arranged for the plants. The event will be inaugurated by Shri D.S.Negi,Chief Secretary of Goa, at 10.30 A.M. on 28 November, in the presence of Dr.N.P.S.Varde, Director of Science,Technology & Environment, Shri Ashok Mogu Naik, Chairman of CCP, Sanjit Rodrigues, Commissioner of CCP,Dr.R.G.Joshi,Director of Agriculture and other dignitaries. Friday night will feature the regular "Bandstand" programme of music under the "Together for Panjim" theme amidst the plants. Plants will be available on sale at the stalls. Competition and display section plants are not for sale. The CM is scheduled to be the Chief Guest at the Valedictory function and to give away the prizes on 30 November at 5 P.M. The Maia de Figueiredo trophy, which was won by the Raj Bhavan in 2000 and by Daniel D'Souza of Assagao during the last two years is up for grabs this year. The score system is detailed in the BUDSPORT, in-house magazine of the Botanical Society of Goa.
