udak or udok is from Skt. and Indo-European (IE). IE root wed- water. The Skt. root is ud or uda. an example is sam-udra = occean, literally 'confluence of waters'. Skt. udra = otter. Skt. udaka has a different meaning, it is connected to offering of water to dead ancestors.
