From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Yesterday evening at Old Goa (originally written on 4th December 2002. Last year. Just thought to share it with you all - Cecil)
The queue in fact was a micro-ism (or whatever the correct term is) of Goa itself. Colourful, multi cultural, multi religious, peaceful, reverential. I could go on, and on... What's important is that this is how it is here in Goa. Colourful people of all cultures, religions, states and countries visit, stay, live and work here. As long as there is a shared icon of faith, St. Francis Xavier, there is hope. All the conniving machinery of the rabble rousers will come to nought as long as we stand in line - with reverence to a higher power. Response: Happy feast to all native Goans. Nice article by Cecil. It would appear from the above that the following did happen.:)) Ghorcarn meets Goencho Saib Archangel Gabriel came to St. Francis Xavier (SFX) and said a Goenchi ghorcarn is here to see you. SFX : Ti Kon re? Tichem naum kitem? (what is her name)? Archangel Gabriel: Ti mhunta aplem naum Maria de Lourdes Figueiredo de Albuquerque from Pomburpa, mhonn. SFX: Borem torr, show her in! Maria: Goencho Saib can you tell me if Goenkars are your beloved people? SFX: You are cent per cent my favorite people. Maria: So Kiteak torr atahm, you sending us these non-Goenkars and hippies and teh bhaile ferangi tourists to amchea bhangarachem Goeank (our golden Goa)? You should check the price of dukrachem mass. They are eating all our lingisaum ani pomfrets. Baangdde kobbar before they get to Pomburpa. Ani in saammer we do not see any Xavier mangoes. Anim amche chedde anim chedduam (boys and girls) emigrate zatat. Looking at all this Goan bhajji-purri even Goencho Saib felt sad and said, "Adim Mhunot 'Siolcar Bebde' pun ataam 'Siolcar Zalleat Sabde' anim kirkont munis zaleat bebde, sounsar soddorlo re puta"! Goenchi mhunn'nni. ########################################################################## # Send submissions for Goanet to [EMAIL PROTECTED] # # PLEASE remember to stay on-topic (related to Goa), and avoid top-posts # # More details on Goanet at http://joingoanet.shorturl.com/ # # Please keep your discussion/tone polite, to reflect respect to others # ##########################################################################
